Recommended by the Dutch wine critic and journalist De Grote Hamersma.

Intense ruby red. A rich bouquet. In the nose a smell of ripe blackberries and forest fruits, leather and tobacco.

The taste is smooth, powerful with warm tannins and dark chocolate.

It is a full bodied red wine of immense finesse, balance and longevity.

Description

Tenuta Pian delle Ginestre is a beautiful winery in Montalcino. Their philosophy is making high quality wines with the best grapes from the estate.

Bruno Natalini: “If I want I can produce more wine, but I don’t. I prefer making wine of exceptional quality.”

Production area
The vineyards from Pian delle Ginestre are located 300 metres above sea level in the southern part of Montalcino between Castelnuovo dell’Abate and Sant’Angelo in Colle. The age of the vine stocks varies from 20 to 40 years old.

Soil
The texture of the soil is composed of red soil and clay up to a depth of 3 metres. The root system of the vine remains wet in dry and warm periods. All this guarantees a natural high quality of the grapes.

Characteristics
Brunello di Montalcino DOCG has an intense ruby red color. A rich bouquet. In the nose a smell of ripe blackberries and forest fruits, leather and tobacco. The wine is perfectly balanced. On the palate round and smooth, warm tannins and dark chocolate. It is a full bodied wine with a long finish.

It is recommended to open the bottle a few hours before drinking. The wine needs to aerate properly.

Brunello is one of Italy’s best wines. It is a powerful wine with a beautiful silky texture and wonderful finesse.

Wine journalist James Suckling in America awarded 94/100 points to the vintage of 2016.
