Description
The grapes for the wine Pinot Grigio delle Venezie DOC come from the vineyards in Refrontolo. Refrontolo is a small town in the wine production are Conegliano Valdobbiadene.
The prosecco grap “glera” is an important grape variety in this production zone. A small percentage of the vineyards may be used for other grapes, such as Chardonnay, Pinot, Verdiso and Perera.
The slopes are steep and rugged. This means good drainage and healthy grapes. All of the vineyards are south-facing.
The growing conditions are unique thanks to the terrain. Grape growing mus be managed here by hand, therefore the area is largely private-owned by small wineries.
According to winemaker Sante Toffoli, the process to create high quality wines demands much attention and care in the vineyards. The vineyards of Toffoli extends over 25 hectares, of which 20 hectares are rented.
The winery Toffoli aims to produces the best wines in the Conegliano Valdobbiadene area. Yearly 3600 bottles of Pinot Grigio wine are produced. The Pinot Grigio delle Venezie is a new white wine on they list.
Microclimate
The temperatures throughout the year create favourable microclimate conditions. The climate in the immediate area is fairly mild. This area is suited for the cultivation of local grape varieties.

Characteristics
A wine with a strong yellow colour with green reflections. It has a fruity and intense bouquet with aromas of yellow field flowers, ripe pear and Golden Delicious apple. It is a wine with character and structure to drink when young. Tasty and fresh in the mouth.
